I'm looking for some direction regarding the relationship among upper level math/credits/accreditation. I'm not too familiar about all this, but I'm currently looking into signing up my 7th grader in an online Algebra I class. Will the grades obtained during this class and course/school accreditation mater when transferring to colleges? Thank you !

Usually, a college looks at the high school transcript for admission decisions. If you are enrolling a high school student for dual enrollment, then he/she would generally take a math placement test to demonstrate proficiency. School accreditation would not be an issue in either circumstance. Algebra1 may be required for college admission, but would not count as college credit, because it is a high school level course (even if taken in 7th grade).Cindy Davis
