Just found: Awesome MP resource for 5-paragraph essay!!

If you have the TM for The Scarlett Letter, p. 99 has a Rhetoric Essay Template that can be filled in by the student as they write a 5-paragraph essay. For history or literature, you can simply change the directions for "Short Summary" to "summarize your argument" and "Central One Idea" becomes their own idea that they're arguing for. HTH!

Alas, my daughter read scarlet letter with the online academy and they do not use student guides in that class. I will have to see about ordering it. Thanks for the info!

Ok so I would love to know which of the other TM’s have this template? I would love not to have to buy that particular TM since my son has already done that book. But maybe another TM of a book he hasn’t read? I wonder if the Divine Comedy TM has anything like this?

I’m pretty sure it was in the Pride and Prejudice one.

So I picked up a MP Pride and Prejudice Student Book at the homeschool convention I went to last month, because we all love the book: although the kids are still at least a couple of years away from reading it, they know the BBC episodes by heart, and that series was quite faithful, by movie standards. Anyway, the pdf linked by Tanya is the very last page in the version of the Student Book I got.
I have to say, I liked this SB very much, and I was intrigued by all the introductory material: there's even a page with tips on how to make notes while reading a book - a fundamental skill I had to pick up on my own when I was in school! So I'm looking forward to many years of high school literature with the MP guides! Thanks!
